VETERINARIAN - BVSc
Allen graduated in 2010 from Massey. He spent 4 years at the Wellington SPCA where he worked with private client animals, shelter animals and welfare cases. Allen moved to Auckland with his 3 cats to take on the new challenge for exotic pet medicine & surgery. Allen enjoys all sports and activities, with a focused interest in basketball.
Senior Small Animal Veterinarian - BVSc
Elmie has come to Pet Doctors Mt Eden from South Africa, where she graduated from Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in 1998 with a Bachelor in Veterinary Science. She then spent the next 5 years in the UK working and travelling the world. After working beside a number of great vets (and her backpack became too heavy with souvenirs!) she returned to South Africa and settled close to family in the Winelands of Western Cape where she worked in a large, referral clinic for 5 years. In 2010, Elmie and her husband immigrated to Auckland where they have been since then.
Elmie enjoys the challenge that veterinary medicine offers and how no 2 days are the same.
She has one 12-year-old cat named Joey who made the journey with Elmie from South Africa. In her spare time, you'll find Elmie scuba diving!
Veterinarian Nurse - DVN
Hayley holds a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and a Certificate in Captive Wild Animals. She owns 5 Cats, Tigger, Isabella, hand-reared Zac and Elfy and previous clinic rescue kitten Aiya. She also fosters rescue kittens (and once a baby rabbit) that come into the clinic and as such she often has any number of kittens until they get a home. Hayley also has a tank full of tropical fish. In her spare time she enjoys reading, going to the movies and spending time with friends, family and her cats. Hayley enjoys learning about animal behaviour including body language, natural behaviours and training in many species. She also has a keen interest in all wild animals, particularly African Wildlife. Last year she spent 2 months in South Africa volunteering with a wildlife vet and at a rhino orphanage. She has previously spent time at Hamilton Zoo and qualified as a zookeeper.
Shondell is our senior cat and dog nurse who joined the team in 2016 after working full time at an after-hours emergency clinic in Australia. She has always had a love of exotic pets and is enjoying taking her knowledge of cats, dogs and emergency nursing and expanding it with a world of exotic medicine.
She currently has just the one pet, a betta fish “Detective Jake Peralta” who came to the clinic needing a new home. In her spare time Shondell can be found travelling the world and around the country, bush walking, practicing acrobatic yoga, swimming at the beach, volunteering at animal sanctuaries and relaxing at home teaching herself a new skill (water colour painting, learning Dutch etc)."
Sarah - Client Relations
Sarah joined Pet Doctors St Lukes as part of their clients relations team after spending 5 years living in England and travelling Europe with her partner Tom. She enjoys providing excellent customer service to both people and pets which is very rewarding.
A lover of animals from a young age, Sarah has owned many pets from fish, birds, frogs and rabbits, but now she owns a Belgian German Tervuren named Wilson. In her free time, you can find Sarah travelling and bush walking.

She has a keen interest in cat friendly handling in order to reduce stress in our feline friends.
Krysta has one naughty ginger tabby cat and in winter, you can find her hitting the slopes on her snowboard.
