Senior Small Animal Veterinarian - BVSc
Elmie has come to Pet Doctors Mt Eden from South Africa, where she graduated from Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in 1998 with a Bachelor in Veterinary Science. She then spent the next 5 years in the UK working and travelling the world. After working beside a number of great vets (and her backpack became too heavy with souvenirs!) she returned to South Africa and settled close to family in the Winelands of Western Cape where she worked in a large, referral clinic for 5 years. In 2010, Elmie and her husband immigrated to Auckland where they have been since then.
Elmie enjoys the challenge that veterinary medicine offers and how no 2 days are the same.
She has one 12-year-old cat named Joey who made the journey with Elmie from South Africa. In her spare time, you'll find Elmie scuba diving!
Team Leader & Veterinarian Nurse
After gaining a certificate and diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2000, Natalie worked for an animal charity hospital in England where she provided treatment for low income clients. She relocated back to Auckland in 2015 and has now joined our Mt Eden clinic where she specialises in behaviour and hospitalised patients. For Natalie, seeing the relief and happiness on parents' faces when they take their pets home is why she loves coming into work.
Family is very important for Natalie, and she loves spending time with her husband, daughter and cat Ralph, whom she rehomed in England and bought with her to Auckland. When Natalie is not working, she's either sampling exotic foods or seeing as many live bands as she can.
Stephanie provides excellent customer service and particularly enjoys the veterinary industry. Stephanie is passionate about her role taking puppy pre-school classes and enjoys educating owners while surrounded by puppies.
At home Stephanie’s rescue family consists of 2 cats Jessie and Harry, 2 dogs Hunterway x Rottweiler x Pitbull named Bailey and Pebbles.
Stephanie’s goal is getting to Africa to work on the game reserves.
Before moving to Auckland in 2011, Krysta grew up in Whakatane with a family who runs a beekeeping business. She graduated from UNITEC in 2015 with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Krysta's favourite part about being a veterinary nurse is providing animals with the best care, especially when they are unwell. She has a keen interest in cat friendly handling in order to reduce stress in our feline friends.
Krysta has one naughty ginger tabby cat and in winter, you can find her hitting the slopes on her snowboard.
Clare gained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in 2006. Along with being a veterinarian nurse, she is a full-time mum. Clare's special interest include puppy training and acupuncture.
Clare adopted 3 stray domestic short haired cats who are all special in their own right.
Your pets, our patients, are our world.
We're dedicated to making that world happier and healthier.
