Our clinic, on the corner of Aldwins Road and Marlborough Street was established in 1986, and became part of the Pet Doctors family in 2016. Our team strive to care for your pets in a relaxed and welcoming clinic. We are able to provide a range of vet services including vaccinations, emergency care, de-sexing, dental care, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. We also offer ultrasound, endoscopy, chemotherapy treatment, acupuncture and penn-hip scoring.
Just like you, our team of vets and vet nurses are passionate about pets and that's why we love to work here. We understand there's a special bond between people and their animals. Our qualified veterinary nurses offer a range of nurses clinics from weight loss to nail clips and much more. As part of the wider Pet Doctors group, we can also offer you a range of extra services and benefits.

Veterinarian - BSc (Genetics), BVSc
JP graduated as a vet in 2008 where he worked in South Africa till 2011 when he married his wife. They set of shortly after they married and worked in Hong Kong for 3 years. After going back to South Africa for a short time, JP and his wife decided to go on a new adventure and make New Zealand their new home. The part JP loves most about the role is not having a desk job. He never knows what his next consult will be and enjoys soft tissue surgery.
Once JP is settled in, his new home will definitely need a new furry companion.
Veterinarian - BVSC(Dist) MANZCVS
Cathy has had the pleasure of providing veterinary care to the pets of Christchurch community for over 20 years, and has been with Pet Doctors since 2016. Cathy understands that pets are treasured family members, and she is focused on providing excellent health care, coupled with warmth and compassion. Cathy's passion is seeing pets grow from bundles of cuteness, all the way through to their autumn years, while having the best health possible.
She has many interests including nervous system and endocrine disorders, cancer care, dentistry, pain management and acupuncture.
Cathy recently spent her holidays joining a team in the Pacific Islands , as a volunteer veterinarian providing her skills to improve animal welfare. Her other enthusiasms out of work are cycling, hill walking, and creating ceramic sculptures. At home Cathy lives with her daughter , and two personality-plus cats, Pixie, and Rosie.
Before joining Pet Doctors, Renee has worked with Marshall & Pringle for 10 years. She moved to Christchurch from Blenheim to study working with animals as it was love of hers from a young age. Renee grew up with a father in agriculture and there were many strays coming home.
Renee enjoys how everyday is different as a veterinary nurse and getting to know her patients and cliental. Currently she is very keen on helping pets lose weight and seeing their transformations.
Renee has two pets; Bradic who is a Weimaraner, Lab x Hunterway who's best friend is a wee Pug. She also has a lop-ear bunny who her kids named after the famous movie 'Hop' as he was born at Easter.
In her spare time, Renee teaches mixed ability dance for a company called Jolt and enjoys seeing the children she teaches become beautiful dancers. She also loves spending time with her family.
Jesse's love for animals began when she graduated in 2006 with a diploma in animal management with distinction gaining a range of skills with a variety of animals. She then pursued a diploma in veterinary nursing and has been working at Pet Doctors Marshall & Pringle since 2016. Jesse particularly enjoys canine behaviour.
Jesse has a rabbit who loves running free in the garden and watching TV on the couch. In her spare time, Jesse enjoys hiking, horse-riding and spending time with family and friends.
Sarah has a National Certificate in Animal Care and joins us with a number of years’ experience working at boarding kennels & catteries in Christchurch. She was an active team member looking after guests and their owners. Sarah has worked with cats, dogs, chinchilla and even chickens. Sarah enjoys the opportunity to assist and support customers and their pets.
At home Sarah has 2 cats Missy who is an older lady and a crazy kitten. She also has an adopted turtle named Moby. All of her pets were adopted through the clinic.
Sarah is actively involved in the leadership group of the Phillipstown community and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Before joining Pet Doctors, Holly worked in hospitality until she decided to start studying a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. The best part about her job is seeing pets leave healthier than they were when they came in and seeing the owners happy. It really means a lot know that they made a difference.
Holly has several pets including Sativa the Tabby who went missing for 2 months but was found 4 blocks away, Kaiser the Sharpei x Bulldog and Phoenix, Bayzen & Star the Tabby cats.
