Below you will find some useful advice, links and information in relations to Christchurch Earthquake and your pet...
In terms of food, water and shelter, take care of your pets as you would yourselves - here are some helpful tips...
-
Keep your pet restrained, for your protection and their's. Even the best of pets may run away when scared.
-
Pets can get sick from contaminated water too, remember to give your pets boiled water if at all possible.
-
If you have to transport pets make sure you have a collar and lead or harness for dogs. For cats a cage is the best idea. If you don't have access to those then if restraining your pet in your arms cover it in a towel or blanket.
-
If you do have to leave your home, take your pets with you.
-
Whereever possible comfort your pets, with a calm voice and lots of cuddles.
