Pet Doctors Animal Care Charitable Trust

The vision of Pet Doctors is to make a positive difference to the lives of all animals in our community. We do this by caring for our clients' pets, as well as those pets less fortunate. We established the Pet Doctors Animal Care Charitable Trust with the goal of helping animals in need. All Pet Doctors clinics contribute to this fund on behalf of their clients.
This registered charitable Trust collects and distributes funds to needy and deserving pets around New Zealand. This may include:
* Pets who need medical or surgical care, but do not have an owner (or their owner is unable to pay for it)
* Individuals or groups in the community who care for unwanted or stray animals
* Any group, product or service that promotes the care, welfare and humane treatment of animals
* The education of the public on all matters concerning the welfare and humane treatment of animals.
The Pet Doctors Animal Care Charitable Trust is a registered charitable trust and further details can be found at the Charities Commission Website.
All Pet Doctors clinics contribute to the funds of the Trust. We also welcome donations from anyone who'd like to help.

Christmas donation helps fill the bowls.
There’ll be a few less hungry mouths to feed this Christmas, thanks to Virbac Animal Health and the Pet Doctors Animal Care Trust.
Last month, Virbac donated more than 400 bags of premium cat and dog food to three animal welfare agencies around New Zealand.
They included the Auckland-based Humane Society, who re-home cats and dogs; dog sanctuary ‘DogWatch’ in Christchurch; and the Canterbury SPCA, who are also dealing with animals affected by the September earthquake.
The food was short-dated stock of the premium product VetComplex, which is developed in France by veterinarians. VetComplex is normally sold exclusively via Pet Doctors, New Zealand’s largest group of veterinary clinics.
James Richardson, Virbac’s Business Manager Animal Health, says the company wanted to distribute the food to areas of particular need.
“We recognise that many animal welfare organisations are struggling over the Christmas period, when sadly greater numbers of animals are neglected or abandoned. These three organisations are doing great work on behalf of animals, and the Canterbury region was a special focus this year.”
Humane Society spokeswoman Jill O’Keffe says the donation was much appreciated.
“It was a tremendous help to our foster homes, and the Society financially, particularly at this busy time of year. And to receive such a premium food was an extra bonus!”
